Manufacturing Trends in India

Changing Workforce Demographics

Manufacturing remains a male dominated workforce, with lower female representation (11%) than the overall workforce (27%), underscoring the importance of robust talent attraction efforts.

An Aging, Tenured Workforce

A larger proportion of tenured employees denotes an aging population with potential bottlenecks to re-skilling on technology, digitization and automation.

Psychological Safety in an AI Era

As the manufacturing industry evolves with AI and automation, employees are increasingly seeking psychological safety to navigate change, wellbeing to sustain performance, and a clear sense of purpose through involvement and growth.

A New Definition of Workplace Purpose

Employees, especially younger generations and women, are increasingly seeking a workplace purpose that goes beyond operational output - where their ideas contribute to innovation, and where leadership fosters openness and shared ownership.

Attraction and Retention Beyond Pay

Attracting and retaining talent goes beyond pay - it's about purpose, belonging, and feeling valued. In manufacturing, inclusion across shopfloor and staff employees through clear communication, recognition, and growth turns jobs into career destinations.

Consultative Support for Leaders

Great Place To Work® provides deep insights, industry benchmarking, and consultative support to enhance people practices, build a unique employee value proposition, and partner with leaders as they navigate mindset shifts.

To undertake the Great Place To Work assessment and achieve Certification, an organization must have at least 10 employees in India. Companies with 10-99 employees must also have been operating for over 2 years.

The Certification process evaluates your workplace through two lenses:

Yes, Great Place To Work follows the For All philosophy, which ensures every employee, regardless of role, is included in the experience assessment.
